In the beginning, there was a bet

It all started with a challenge between colleagues. I knew nothing about football, but I knew how to make numbers talk. So I sorted the players, spotted the ones who were actually performing, and… I won the season.

There was probably a bit of luck involved. But I understood one thing: on MPG, picking well is a skill you can learn. MPG Stats was born from that, so everyone could benefit.

Behind the screen, just one person

I'm not a professional developer. I taught myself everything, on my own time: coding, testing, fixing bugs, hosting, optimizing. MPG Stats is my hobby, and quite a school.

Not a week goes by without a new idea coming up. And every year, data science students and curious players write to me with questions. That's my greatest reward.

Seeing the site used every week is what keeps me going.

Our principles

Free, for good.

All the historical features stay free. Always.

No ads, no tracking.

I don't want to sell your attention, or your data, to the web giants. Ad blockers have settled the question anyway.

Lean.

A modest server, hosted at home, designed to use little data and little energy.

But "free" doesn't mean "costs nothing".

This isn't a subscription, and nothing that's free today will become paid tomorrow. Some features are expensive to run: auction profiling takes a lot of computing power, and season history takes a lot of storage. So we reserve them for those who help fund them. It's our way of saying thank you.

Replay your matches with the best line-up

For every past match in your league, see the best line-up your squad allowed and the score it would have produced: could you have turned the result around?

Past seasons history

The players table extends to previous seasons, with each season's stats and auctions.

Auction habits profiling

Analyze your opponents' auction habits in the transfer market: average prices, targeted players, strategies. Get the edge from the very first whistle.

Match sheet line-up assistant

Before each match, the advised sheet against your opponent's likely XI: starters, bench, captain, bonus to play and, in Expert mode, buys and sales.

Build your transfer market squad

The best squad your budget allows, based on players' past performances, with for each one the bid that wins him in round 1 at the risk level you choose.

Opponents' match profiling

Favourite formations and their win rate, bonuses played home and away, live and tactical substitutions, typical team: learn how your next opponent approaches his matches.

Premium is applied automatically when the email used for your donation matches your account email (or a donor email linked to it). Otherwise, contact us via the contact page with your payment reference.
